I would give the mat a 5 but as I have only had it a few days longevity is one of the things I don’t yet know about BUT so far, so good! Putts roll very well and consistently- I am using this with a Capto EZ putting analyser so any issues would show up quickly.
The back stop is great and the “holes” work well and don’t impact roll into the cup at all where they sit with a lip underneath.
As has been mentioned elsewhere online the edges are a bit frayed in places but no impact whatsoever on the performance. I have found the hole cut outs don’t go in perfectly, they are adequate but you don’t want to be putting over them. But these are jiggles as it’s a very good piece of kit. I was trying to buy the market leader but the shipping from the USA to UK and overall price was just crazy, so I did concern myself going for this alternative option but it was worth it. Time will tell if it survives being outdoors for periods in the glorious British weather and with the wonderful pigeons who I like to sh@t everywhere circling overhead…

We also really appreciate you taking the time to point out the finer details. Regarding the slight edge fraying, that's a normal characteristic of cut-pile golf turf. Unlike traditional putting mats with stitched or bound edges, our mats are intentionally left unstitched so they can connect seamlessly with one another for a continuous, true roll. A tiny amount of natural edge fraying can occur over time, but we've worked hard to keep it to an absolute minimum, and it won't affect the performance or durability of the mat.
As for the British weather and those pigeons… the turf is built to handle the outdoors, and if one of those feathered friends happens to leave you an unwanted 'gift', a quick wash will have it looking good again! 😄

I have been using the Chiputt mat for a little while. The quality of the mat is fantastic. The speed of the mat was a little slow at first, but once I got used to it it is fine. ( I believe the speed is around 10 on the stimp which, is what the US Open greens at Shinnecock are running.) The ball rolls true. CS has been very helpful. I would definitely purchase again.

The Chiputt Mat rolls at around a 10 on the Stimpmeter, which is right in the range many golfers will encounter on greens they actually play on. It's definitely slower than many putting mats that run at lightning-fast 11+ stimp, so a short adjustment period is completely normal. Once dialed in, you'll find the speed and roll are designed to deliver a more realistic on-course putting experience!

I was torn between the PrimePutt and the Chiputt mat but based on the price and return policy I chose to give the Chiputt mat a try. It’s even better than I hoped and I believe the quality is equal to the PrimePutt mat. I was also excited to see that a few upgrades were shipped with the mat that are not yet listed on the website like holes and extra cups in the chipping mat so it’s usable in both directions. The mat plays slower in the opposite direction so if you play slower greens it’s perfect. It’s the closest to an actual putting green that I have ever experienced. Also included now are ball stops for the sides and a grip tape strip to add to the bottom of the wooden stop to keep it from moving. Set up was easy and it laid flat right out of the box. A quick sweep with a stiff broom to get the grain in the right direction and it was ready to go. I will be sharing my experience with my entire golf group. Thanks!!!!

I had an excellent experience with Chiputt. The CEO helped me out a ton, communicated clearly, and made the entire process easy and enjoyable.
Before ordering, I was worried I might be compromising on quality, but what I received was exactly what I was looking for. The practice quality is outstanding, and the overall aesthetic is clean enough to fit in an office or home setting without looking tacky.
The green is heavy, thick, and sturdy, just like the more expensive “premium” options I was comparing it to. There is no cheap feeling to any part of it. The roll is true and consistent, and based on my experience, it feels like it plays around a 10 on the stimpmeter.
It’s also clear that Chiputt has made meaningful improvements from previous versions. The distance markers, wooden backstop, seamless connection between the chipping strip and the main green, cups, and heavy speed ramp all add to the overall quality. Nothing feels like an afterthought, and nothing looks or feels cheap.
I spent a lot of time deciding between Chiputt and a couple of other similar options. In the end, I saved money by not paying for the more expensive “premium” brand, and after seeing that option in person, I can confidently say there is no trade-off in quality.
I’m leaving this review because the communication was excellent, but more importantly, because I know how hard this decision can be. I was in the “buy once, cry once” mindset, but Chiputt gave me the quality I wanted without having to overpay. I’m very happy with the purchase and would absolutely recommend it.
I am currently going through a remodel and waivered on the size of the surface options. Jason changed my order after it had already been processed and even went through the details of all of the improved specs of the new mats. Great customer service and feedback. I'm sold.

I researched putting mats for several months before making a decision. One day l clicked on a link that took me to the Chiputt mat. It had a high rating. I did in-depth research and the rest is history. During my research I went to the Chiputt website and submitted a few questions. I was expecting to receive an e-mail response. But to my utter surprise, I received a phone call response from Jason, the founder of the company. The information he shared was helpful. I like his philosophy in developing the Chiputt mat. Based on my research and the conversation with Jason, I chose the Chiputt mat. Although there was another mat I had my eye on, I couldn’t bring myself to pay that price. Thankfully, I came across the Chiputt mat. It cost less and includes LOTS of accessories. When I unrolled the mat I was amazed at the texture as well as the quality of the backing. It laid flat except at the ends. I reverse rolled it for a few seconds, walked along the edges and it flattened out.

The Mat is freaking awesome! Love this thing! Feels really good and rolls very well. Laid flat as I unwrapped it and considering it's my first Chiputt Mat. So good. Packaged well, premium feel. Unpacks and rolls flat right away. This is not a light, cheap piece of turf, the product has serious heft! The process of ordering and then timely shipment and even more importantly the communication that was provided, included some upgrades (guard rails) being included was great! I had a smaller putting mat in my living room, and measured this one to fit perfectly 3 x 11 and also the chipping mat. I also made one adjustment and have already heard back on some new cup development they are working on, which will be great to see, as you can see I had the original metal cups, which I spray painted with White Metal paint to further highlight the holes. The mat was unraveled and I reverse rolled the ends slightly for 5-10 mins and let sit overnight and all is really good. Added bonus - my wife embraced the new mat and my cats enjoy sitting on it, when I’m not practicing. Haha

Setup is quick and easy, taking less than 2 minutes. Simply unroll the mat, place your wooden backstop (with anti-slip tape for grip), side rails, PaceMaster Ramp and hole cups, and you’re ready to go.
While some mats may arrive with minor curls or bumps due to logistics and storage, these are easy to smooth out. For curled edges or ends, just reverse-roll for 5 seconds and step on them briefly; for minor bumps, place 10–15 lbs (4–7 kg) of weight (like books) on the area for 5–10 minutes.
Once broken in, your Chiputt putting mat will stay flat permanently. We’ve tested nearly all major putting mats out there—many have permanent creases or never lay flat. But Chiputt’s construction is designed to flatten out fully and stay that way, making setup a breeze.
