Having bought two previous putting mats, both the raised gravity return style type, over time I found myself wanting more realistic practice. I found problems with the gravity return mats. It seemed like balls started rolling in a groove in the matt over time after many putts. Also the raised cup isn't visually or feeling like what we are putting to on the course so I wondered if there was any point, as your mind knows it's not real. I tried another one but it was just way too fast. And with both your feet aren't level with the mat. Yes they were better than nothing but I wanted something better and more realistic to make more use of my practice time.
Looked a the primeputt but couldn't quite justify the price even before the huge additional shipping costs (to the UK).
So took a chance on the chiputt and honestly couldn't be happier.
It rolls nice, probably about 10 on a stimp, more like the greens I putt on in the UK. The base of the mat is a heavy grippy substance and works well placed on my carpet. I was worried the mat would ripple on my carpet as I settled into a putt. But it holds the mat steady.
So it's a good pace and with the three cups I can hit 9 realistic mid range putts, changing my target each putt, either standing on the matt or the extra side mat. Then start over. I find this way more productive than my old gravity style return mats.
Also comes with a nice little return wedge so you can hit putt after putt too.
Overall really love this product.
